Here’s your chance to win one of 10 copies of Sugarland’s new Live On the Inside CD / DVD set!
Not only does the set contain the Sugarland hits you know and, undoubtedly, love (”Baby Girl,” “Stay,” “All I Want To Do,” etc.) but they’ve also thrown in quite a few covers. Personally, I was surprised that they covered Kings of Leon’s “Sex On Fire” (which I now always think of this video when I hear…). They also cover REM’s “Nightswimming” and “The One I Love” and the B-52s’ classic “Love Shack.”
This is being sold exclusively at Walmart, so stick it to the man and score your FREE copy by dropping us a line using this link. We’ll pick 10 lucky winners and post their names right here when we mail the prizes! Good luck!
Ahh… Whitney Duncan. I really like Whitney Duncan. Wait — that was last post! Sorry!
I’m always taken aback when I see Whitney Duncan in person because I’m so used to seeing the 12″ cardboard cutout of her that sits on top of my desk. But I sure ain’t complainin’!
Whitney recently dropped by HitMakers HQ and talked about her new single, “Skinny Dippin.” Check it out below as we catch up with Whitney and hear how she was nearly attacked by a snake in the water. I tell ya — that thing could have killed her… if it weren’t dead!
Ahh, Sarah Buxton… I really like Sarah Buxton. She’s just so positive and she smells nice — seriously! A little on my personal background with her:
Very early on in our relationship, I told my girlfriend that I was going to marry Sarah Buxton.
I’ve got to meet Sarah a few times, but the only thing I was ever able to say to her was, “I love your songs.” Man, I’m smooth.
My aforementioned girlfriend saw Sarah play acoustic at the Nashville Screenwriter’s Conference and told me she understood my previous statement.
I once heard a knock on my door here at the HitMakers office (it’s the back door, so visitors rarely come in this way). When I opened the door, there was none other than Sarah Buxton. I thought maybe she had arrived so that we could start our life together, but alas, she was just here for an interview
Well lucky for you, some bits from that interview are below in our New Music Spotlight. In it, Sarah talks about the fun she had making her video for “Outside My Window.” Check it out as we catch up with Miss Buxton and spin her new one in the New Music Spotlight!
And here’s the music video for “Outside My Window”:
Even though Steve Azar could be making some serious moo-la on the PGA tour, he’s got his heart set on cranking out solid Country tunes. Last year, he started Dang Records and released Indianola. Now he’s back with a brand new one, Slide On Over Here, featuring its first single, “Moo La Moo.” We’re not going to pretend that we know exactly what that means, but it sounds catchy, right? Steve thinks so — and we’ll let him tell you all about it in the New Music Spotlight below:
According to Wikipedia, Jesse Lee was an American Methodist Episcopal clergyman and pioneer who helped spread Methodism in the late 1700s… Wait, wrong Jesse Lee! Okay — the Jesse Lee we’re worried about started recording demos in Nashville at age 14 and has some pink hair. Wait again, pink hair in Country music?? Well, according to her Wikipedia, she is dating Paramore’s bass player. But seriously, you all know that Country music has plenty of room for any hair style or color! That’s why we’re spinning Jesse’s new one, “It’s A Girl Thing,” in our New Music Spotlight:
Hot off the coattails of his second #1 single (”She’s Country”), Jason’s back with more down-on-the-farm Country goodness. And he’s feelin’ good about “Big Green Tractor”! Will we see another #1 from Jason? Well, check it out below and tell us what you think!
I suppose the first thing you have to mention when introducing the Parks is that they’re a father / son duo. Clint (son) and Johnny (dad) Parks aren’t the male version of the Judds, but they definitely have a throwback sound. So if you’re a fan of Country music and remember when records sold well, you should most certainly check out “As Long As You’re Going My Way” in the New Music Spotlight below!
When he hasn’t been cutting his hair or getting into character for his Broadway debut in Pure Country, Joe’s been putting out new music. And he’s issued a challenge to all of his fellow believers. Check it out here and check out Joe’s new one as we give it a spin in the New Music Spotlight:
Do you remember what you were doing when you were three? Most of us were probably primarily interested in cartoons and cereal, but Megan Mullins was a bit more, shall we say, “talented” and “ambitious”? That’s when Megan got her start on-stage and won the Indiana State Fair Showmanship award.
Since then, Megan has performed at the Grand Ole Opry, played in the Nashville Star house band and toured with Randy Owen. In fact, she recorded a duet with Randy for his solo album One On One.
Well Megan’s striking out on her own now with what will be her debut album for Stoney Creek Records. The first single off the forthcoming offering is “Long Past Gone.” Check it out below as we give it a spin and chat with Megan in the New Music Spotlight:
