Phil Vassar — “I Would”

Phil Vassar

People like Phil Vassar have to make you kind of sick. And I mean that in the best way possible!

The guy’s a talented piano player and songwriter — his songs have been cut by let’s just say “everyone,” (including Engelburt Humperdinck) — and he seems to always be smiling. And as I was listening to “I’m Alright” on the radio as I drove to work this morning, well, it’s hard not to smile when you’re singing along to a Phil Vassar song.

We’re giving his new one, “I Would,” a spin in this week’s New Music Spotlight. Listen in as Phil talks about the mysterious forces that make a song a hit, plus Phil shares the inspiration he got to write “I Would” while he was in Las Vegas. Don’t you just love it when you get a great song idea and can just hammer it out at the piano… in your hotel room!?
