While you would think that Nashville is always full of Country music superstars, the reality is that most of the time, those stars are not here in town all that much. They’re out & about touring, making music videos, attending awards shows, etc.
After the Grammys, Keith Urban realized that it had been a while since he talked to his Nashville people. So, what did he do? He called us! And it’s a good thing we were rolling tape, because it was one of the better interviews we’ve had in a while. Check it out below as Keith Urban phones it in for the Artist Profile!
Before he was storming up the charts with his debut single, “A Little More Country Than That,” Easton Corbin spent a lot of time on his grandparents’ cattle farm. The former FFA and 4-H member even used to show cattle at local livestock fairs. We recently caught up with Easton, who told us that he enjoys life on the farm and hopes to get back to it someday.
Katie Armiger’s new single, “Kiss Me Now,” is a song that is rooted deep in symbolism and relies heavily on metaphors pondering the deeper complexities of life.
Ahhhhh, just kiddin! Katie says her new one is pretty self-explanatory! So we’re not gonna try to explain it, but we are giving it a spin in the New Music Spotlight below!
Do you remember in elementary school when you got to watch a movie in class on Friday? Yeah you do! That and recess were probably the two best feelings in the world when you were that age.
Well, we’re gonna try to bring back at least an inkling of that feeling by going through some awesome old-school country music videos. This week, we’ve got some early ’90s clips from Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw and Shania Twain.
Enjoy your day and have a wonderful, safe weekend!
If you want to write Country songs for a living, you’re probably going to move to Nashville at some point. You won’t be the first, and you certainly won’t be the last. See those beautiful people above? They all took the jump to Music City before they were superstars featured on CountryHitMakers.com.
Check out this week’s Cover Story as we talk about the bright lights & broken dreams of Nashville…
The odds have been stacked against Matt Kennon since before he was born. While his mother ultimately put him up for adoption, Matt says he is very fortunate to have been raised by his loving family. And even though it hasn’t all been smooth sailing for the Conyers, GA native, Matt says he always counts his blessings.
Listen in to this week’s Lifestyle section to hear Matt’s moving story, plus his powerful debut single, “The Call.”
In this week’s Artist Profile, we check in with Billy Currington to find out exactly how country boys roll. Apparently, they like to roll beachside with a couple of piña coladas in Key West. Sounds pretty good to me! We also hear about how Billy had a slight change of plans after he moved to Nashville… which sure beat the heck out of pouring concrete!
Along the way, we’re spinning “Walk a Little Straighter” and the aforementioned “That’s How Country Boys Roll.” Check it out below!
Okay, so you’ve probably seen this by now, but just in case you haven’t…
Ouch!!! Brad was taken to MUSC hospital in Charleston, SC where it was revealed that he didn’t break anything. According to Brad, he’s just very, very bruised. And as you would expect, Brad’s being a good sport about it over on his Twitter.
My favorite part: Brad was playing “Alcohol” during the faceplant.
Jason Aldean knows a thing or two about how to get a song to the top of the charts. His last three singles have all hit the #1 spot, so don’t be surprised if his new one, “Crazy Town,” follows suit.
But believe it or not, there was a time when Jason considered packing it all up and heading back to Georgia. We’re glad he didn’t, otherwise, we wouldn’t be able to spin “Crazy Town” in the New Music Spotlight! So, give it a listen and tell us what you think!
